As the project CB CARBON FREE has reached its formal finalization on 12.9.2023, PB3 conducted a report for the Evaluation of project activities. In short, we present below the findings of the report for the evaluation of project activities.
The first group of stakeholders who evaluated the project actions are the project partners themselves, who evaluate their interaction with the project target groups, the project implementation experience itself as well as the impact of the project on the intervention
areas. Overall, they judge the project as necessary and effective, while particular emphasis is placed on the continuation of the cooperation and the further support of businesses in the adoption of carbon emission reduction policies and other environmentally friendly policies.
The second group is the businesses in Greece and Bulgaria that participated in the seminars conducted by Greek Exporters’ Association (SEVE) and the Haskovo Chamber. Of particular interest are the comments shared by the respondents in the context of the open questions of the questionnaire, which can be used by the bodies of SEVE and the Haskovo Chamber for the planning of similar actions. There is a need to address practical issues and to connect theory with examples of practical application in real operating conditions of a business. Regarding the importance of the project and the undertaking of action by SMEs in the field of environmental protection, the participating businesses seem to be ready to proceed to the next steps.
The third group of stakeholders are the businesses that committed to the pilot implementation of the multi-criteria protocol for reduced/zero carbon emissions. They evaluate their experience and the results of the pilot implementation, to the extent that these are visible in the timeframe for implementing the deliverable. The main reasons that led businesses to pilot the reduced/zero carbon protocol were the positive perception of consumers towards environmentally certified products and the value of the brand. Most businesses consider that the competitiveness of their business/products increases considerably with the creation of the regional “brand”.
Project partners continue to support businesses that wish to implement the reduced/zero carbon emissions protocol and other environmentally friendly practices.
